The Gome Music Ensemble embarked on a three-day tour in Ivory Coast from July 19 to July 21, 2024, delivering exceptional performances in Yamoussoukro, the country’s central city. While Ivory Coast’s economic capital and largest city is the port city of Abidjan, the tour attracted people from across Africa, showcasing their diverse cultures and traditions. The highlight was the Gome Music Ensemble Group’s performance, which amazed the audience by seamlessly incorporating various traditional dances such as adowa, agbadza, bamaya, borborbor, kpanlogo, kple, and apatampa into one spectacular show. The crowd was captivated and clamored for encores. The show’s organizer emphasized the importance of remembering and promoting African culture, thanking participants from Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and other parts of Africa for their contributions to this year’s cultural display.
